Ducklings YR

Welcome to Duckling Class. We are a friendly and happy class of twenty-one children. Our teacher is Miss Roe and Ms Jacqui Perry is our HLTA. We also have learning support from Mr Vear and Miss Walker.

We enjoy learning in our large and airy classroom where we have access to our own enclosed outdoor learning area. We enjoy going on trips and meeting visitors to enhance our learning.

Every week we visit our on-site Forest School where we get to explore the natural world around us and take part in exciting activities such as making our own perfume from natural materials and building dens to hide from the Big Bad Wolf!

Our EYFS curriculum celebrates diversity and promotes the children’s personal, social and emotional development alongside their academic progress.

Our vision in Ducklings is to help all children develop a love of learning and lay the necessary foundations to give them the best possible start to their education. This year our Class School Councillors are Fred and Eliyanah.

Reading is at the heart of all that we do at school. We love books and sharing stories with the children every day - there is no greater gift in education than learning to read! Parents can really help with this at home. It is important that your child is reading every day, as a school we request that children read a minimum of 5 times a week. This could be reading decodable Phonics books and story/picture books for pleasure. Please practice GPCs and common exception words
