Welcome to Cygnet Class!

Welcome to Cygnets Class! We are a kind, caring and enthusiastic class of 19 Year 1 children. Our class teacher is Mrs Sharp and lots of other adults help us throughout the week, including Mrs Perry, Miss Benson, Mrs Allwood, Mr Vear and Miss Walker.

In Cygnets, we become increasingly independent and develop our growth mindsets, which mean we don’t give up easily! We love a challenge and enjoy getting fully involved with our learning. Being kind, safe and responsible are important, as well as trying our best.  

We enjoy learning about a range of interesting things across the curriculum. As well as our daily Phonics, Maths and English lessons, we get creative and explorative through other subjects too; sewing in DT, the Great Fire of London in History, Animals in Science and much more! 

Every Monday afternoon we spend time in our school forest where we explore and play. These sessions link to various areas of our curriculum, including Science, Art, PSHE and Geography. 

We will visit Folly Farm throughout the year to learn about the seasons, plants and animals in more depth.
