Kingfishers Y6

We are a class of 28 pupils, and our teachers are Mrs Fangman and Mrs Blannin. On Fridays, we are also taught French by Mrs Langham.

At Kingfisher Class, we pride ourselves on always being kind, safe and responsible. It’s important to us that we set a good example to the rest of the school and act as positive role models. As a class, we aim to be friendly and welcoming to everyone.

In our classroom, we have a token jar that we work hard to fill in order to earn a whole-class treat — this often involves using our fabulous Curriculum Kitchen! We earn tokens for lovely lining up, wonderful walking, setting good examples to others, and showing resilience and teamwork.

This year, we’ll be learning about lots of exciting topics, including World War II, Coral Biomes, building effective shelters, and designing and making our own burger recipes, plus so much more! We’re also working hard on our presentation skills to earn our pen licences and presentation pouches.

In Term 2, we’re heading off on a week-long residential trip to Mill on the Brue – we can’t wait for the adventure!

We’ve each taken on responsibilities within the classroom to help it run smoothly and ensure it remains a welcoming, organised learning environment. Beyond the classroom, we also have school-based roles as buddies to the Ducklings and play leaders. Our School Council representatives are Lola and Seb.

We’re really looking forward to all the exciting things we have planned this year!
