Kingfishers Y6
Welcome to Kingfisher Class, where we are a class of 28 pupils taught by Miss Nash and Mrs Blannin.
We pride ourselves on being kind, safe and responsible. As the oldest pupils in the school, we understand the importance of setting a positive example and being fantastic role models for others. We strive to make our classroom a friendly, welcoming and supportive place where everyone feels valued and included.
Our Marble Jar
In Kingfisher Class, we have a marble jar that we are working hard to fill! We earn marbles for lovely lining up, wonderful walking, setting a good example, showing resilience and working as a team. Once our jar is full, we get to enjoy an exciting class treat!
Our Learning
We have an exciting year of learning ahead of us, with lots of fascinating topics to explore. We’ll be learning about World War II and Coral Biomes, investigating how to build effective shelters, and using our creativity to design and make our own burger recipes- as well as discovering lots more along the way!
We’re also working hard to improve our presentation skills. We’re looking forward to earning our pen licences and presentation pouches as we take pride in producing our very best work.
Mill on the Brue
One of the highlights of our year will be our week-long residential trip to Mill on the Brue. We can’t wait to get stuck into all of the exciting activities, challenge ourselves, work as a team and make some fantastic memories together!
Taking Responsibility
We each have our own responsibilities within the classroom, helping to keep Kingfisher Class organised, welcoming and ready for learning.
We also have important roles across the school. Beyond the classroom, we also have school-based roles as buddies to the Ducklings and play leaders. Our School Council representatives this year are Milo and Maisie.
Our Year Ahead
We’re really excited about all of the opportunities and special events that Year 6 has in store. Being the oldest pupils in the school means that we have lots of responsibility- and we’re ready to rise to the challenge!
We’re looking forward to an amazing year in Kingfisher Class!
