Welcome to Lemur Class! We are the Year 5 and 6 pupils at Stanton Drew Primary School and are proud to be the oldest children in the school. There are 13 pupils in our class, taught by Mrs Dennis and Mrs Williams, with support from the wonderful Mrs Owen, Mrs Bridge and Mrs Parson. In the afternoons, we join with Chinchilla Class to form Otter Class.

As the oldest pupils in the school, we take our role as role models seriously. We pride ourselves on setting a positive example, being good friends, showing excellent manners and demonstrating kindness and respect towards others. We enjoy welcoming visitors to our school and helping everyone feel part of our community.

In Lemur Class, we set high expectations for ourselves and work hard to achieve our very best. We enjoy working towards rewards, including filling our pom-pom jar to earn a whole-class treat. We also strive to achieve Behaviour Cards, Dojo points and weekly certificates, which are celebrated during our Friday Celebration Assembly. We take great pride in our presentation and handwriting, working towards earning our Presentation Pouches and Pen Licences.

Our mornings are filled with exciting learning opportunities, including Guided Reading, Spelling, English and Maths. Every Wednesday, we also take part in a class assembly, where we explore important themes such as democracy and our school values, helping us develop a deeper understanding of the world around us.

As part of Otter Class, our afternoons are spent exploring a wide range of subjects, including Science, History, Geography, Art, Music, Computing, RE and French. We are encouraged to be curious, ask thoughtful questions and think deeply about our learning. To bring our topics to life, we enjoy immersive Wow Days, welcoming visitors into school and exploring our local area through educational trips and visits.

There are also many opportunities beyond the classroom. Throughout the year, we participate in sporting events with local schools, including football, rugby and rounders, and enjoy termly tennis lessons at Bishop Sutton Tennis Club. One of the highlights of Year 5 and 6 is our Year 6 residential camp, where we challenge ourselves with exciting outdoor activities, build resilience and create memories that will last a lifetime.

We love performing and look forward to taking part in school productions, concerts and celebrations throughout the year. These include our Harvest Service, Christmas Concert and End of Year Production, where we have the opportunity to showcase our talents, creativity and confidence.

Lemur Class is a hardworking, supportive and enthusiastic community. We work collaboratively, celebrate each other's successes and always encourage one another to achieve our best. We are proud of our class and excited for all the learning, challenges and adventures that lie ahead this year.
